If I only had some sense of timing, I would have started or ended this extremely long series on the 4th of July. After all, it's from All-Star Comics #4 and there's enough patriotism in here to satisfy your average gun show attendee.
When last we left the Justice Society, they had been summoned to Washington to get their marching orders:
Yeah, don't you just hate it when people take advantage of things like Free Speech or Freedom of the Press? Troublemaking liberals, what with their Due Process and Bill of Rights! The government should really do something about that, instead of letting people take advantage of their generosity and good nature.
That's the problem with the U.S. government - we're such pacifists, so slow to use force to get our way....

What? College campuses are having an exchange of ideas? Why... sputter... sputter! Are there books involved? How is this happening?
Yeah, it's the Germans' fault we have such a divided class system and strained race relations. The Germans. Let's go with that.

Um... excuse me, Mr. Secretary, but your dialogue is completely eclipsing the Flash. Not that I'm complaining.
Oh, we've only just begun. Tune in tomorrow!

Um, given that the story takes place during the Roosevelt administration, it would appear that the "troublemaking liberals" are, in fact, the ones asking the JSA to crack down on due process and the bill of rights.
Wow! Dick Cheney HAS been around a long time!
... the Germans...
