Limp-Picklin' Wednesday!

One of the lamest insults I've ever heard, courtesy of Avengers v1 #22:

What? No "Your mother's so greasy, she has a job at IHOP running pancakes across her forehead?" No "Your sister's so stupid, she sold her car for gas money?" Come on, Billy! Put some thought into it!

Stan Lee must have had pickles on the brain, though, because in the very next ish:

Yeah, Hawkeye! Better hope that first kid's uncle doesn't show up!

Pickles, pickles, pickles.... so much fun to say.... pickles, pickles, pickles....

Hey, speaking of Avengers v1 #23, it's time for "Fun with Out-of-Context Dialogue!"(tm):

pickles, pickles, pickles.....

.... now please remove your penis from my desk.

Hey, it's not my fault! It's Pickles Day! Pickles, pickles, pickles.....

Hey, Agnes! Come on over to my house and watch television through Saran Wrap!

Wow, I don't know how our grandparents survived. I really don't.

See you tomorrow! Pickles!

Actually, "Your uncle eats pickles" meant something much dirtier back then.

Adam, we want more "more Fun with Out-of-Context Dialogue!"

Great Rao, I LOVE this site!!!! Thank you Adam!

That poor gay boy, defending the Fantastic Four against the bully wearing an Avengers T-shirt.

It's like Republicans versus Democrats. FF are rich cosmopolitan liberal elites, openly accepting that Ben's a freak and Johnny is flaming. Reed's into science and Sue is actually a superhero on a boy's t-shirt in 1964. A girl!

The bully wearing the Avengers T won't have any of it. A true-blue red-blooded AMERICAN who's SO AMERICAN he's actually called CAPTAIN AMERICA is front and center on HIS scrawny chest, reliving his glory days of war, war, WAR! The only female on HIS team is drawn as small as a mosquito.

Loves it! Where can I get one of these vintage shirts?

Heh. My mom's elderly aunt and uncle had one of those "color filters" on their TV as late as 1974.

One of the local radio guys used to talk about how his father bought a "color filter" because "color TV was a fad."

Frock? Oh, sorry, I mean pickles!

Why not giant mayonnaise jars? Ooh, I guess that isn't really any better, is it?

Of course it's not an insult at all if his uncle is Buddy Sorrell from The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Michale Jones is right--Buddy's wife was named pickles! Oh, God, must, gouge out... eyes
