It has been said that true comedy always has the potential to offend someone, and I think that's true. By the same token, awesomeness often flirts with suckitude.
Once again, I give you: Bob Haney.
Bob Haney is a writer who will have Batman conveniently "strolling by" when stuff happens:
.... which, of course, is stupid and unnecessary. But you know what? He's Bob Haney, and if he is going have Batman just wandering around, waiting for things to rise up from the ground and destroy a band shell and knock a mandolin player on his behind, that's what he's going to do. And he'll get away with it. Do you know why?
Because he's Bob Frikin' Haney, that's why! And if you stick around long enough, he'll give you locusts devouring Gotham City:
Now, see what you would have missed if you had groaned and tossed World's Finest #237 in the trash after only reading the first page? Locusts eating Gotham City, that's what you would have missed!
Isn't that fun! It works almost every issue. Let's try World's Finest #238:
Wow. Is Superman Jr. in love, or is he going to have the girl killed and served to his loved ones on the fourth Thursday in November? Romantic dialogue is not his suit.
But, if you grit your teeth and plow through, you just might get a gigantic mosquito:
See? It's totally worth it. You just have to hang in there. It's like sitting through whatever crummy show NBC has on Thursday night before The Office. If you just ride it out, something good will come along.
And don't crash parties, kids. That's wrong:
I was a child in the 70's, so I can confirm that yes, we were morons and had to be told things like that. These days, you can just give kids a PS3 and a large bag of Cheetos and you don't have to worry about them wandering off.
See you tomorrow!

Is it just me, or is the dialogue in that PSA with Superman in it stilted and awkward even for PSA with Superman in it?
Not only does Bob Haney have Batman strolling around...he's strolling around in broad daylight!
I kinda wish Superman would interrupt comics today with random PSAs...
Zocktastic is right, that is the worst, lamest PSA I have ever read in my entire life. I mean it's worse than a Hostess ad. Maybe you should consider (tm!)ing Lousy PSAs?
Bats may be randomly wandering around in broad daylight waiting for trouble to occur, but at least it beats Superman interrupting bored little kids to give them some vaguely worded warnings about trespassing.
Also, I like the fact that Batman keeps such close tabs on the Gotham City Parks Department's internal policies and procedures.
I love that people in the audience are just reacting with things like "far out!" like it's only what they were expecting to see, considering all that acid they took earlier.
Glad to see the Parks Dept is on the alert! The kids just spill it when they see Supes. Surely we were smarter than that.
