Action Comics #258 has a very rare appearance of COSMIC MAN!
Rare, because no one gives two hoots.
And, unlike Superman, who has the double-layered protection of trunks outside of his pants, COSMIC MAN laughs at the Man of Steel's insecurities by flying around with no pants whatsoever!
Oh, did I mention he was a robot? Because he was a robot.
It's apparently been so long since Lois has seen any action that she either didn't know or didn't care that she was kissing plastic lips.
It's not cool to kiss a pantless man in public, Lois. It's just not cool
There was no sense getting jealous of robots in the Golden Age. There were just too dang many of 'em. I'm not sure how we lost our way, but apparently we had sentient robot technology down back in the day.
See you tomorrow!

I can not find ANYTHING about Cosmic Man online. How does he toss around boulders so easily if he is so "fragile"? Is he only "fragile" to Superman? In other words is it because his (Supermans) Super-robots are nearly totally indestructible but this one is just a regular superstrong robot? And "clumsily made"? A robot that can hurl boulders into the stratosphere and walk among humans but be otherwise totally indistinguishable from an ordinary human is "clumsily made"? Even in 2014 Asimov is the best robot we have built, that I know of, and noone in their right mind would EVER mistake that for a normal human.
"He's so fragile and clumsily made he couldn't possibly fly or have super-strength like the super-robots I create!"
Bragging much?
Well, I didn't want to just chalk it up to Supermans superego. That would be to easy. I was wondering if there was an in story explanation for it.
This story appears, in sparkling black and white, in "Showcase Presents: Superman--Vol. 2", which is where I read it, but please don't make me dig it out and re-read it. If I remember correctly, Cosmic Man is part of a plot hatched by an ambitious general in a small eastern European country, said general hoping to kill the leader of that nation with an exploding Cosmic Man and then take over. Cosmic Man's super-strength is faked by the use of rock-shaped balloons, which almost certainly wouldn't fool me, but I'm not the target audience.
Coll man! Thanks for the info.
No prob; your avatar made me laugh, so thanks for that.
Made you laugh? It is just a selfie. >^_^<
