SPOOOSSH!

Today's post comes courtesy of contributor Marvel X42, who came up with a pair of doozies.

First, some Fun with Out of Context Dialogue! (tm!):

I don't know where that came from, but that is possibly one of the best Fun with Out of Context Dialogues (tm!) I've ever seen.

And here's a Fun with Out of Context Artwork!:

Wow... that one even had some CMNS Sound Effect Theatre (tm!) to boot for "SPOOSSHH!"

Great stuff, Marvel X42!  Thanks!

See you tomorrow!

  1. To be honest I don't know where they came from either. I just know that they are actual unedited panels from comics. I am wondering if "dick" was a term for something else though. That is the only thing that I don't understand.

  2. I trust my source. He said that it wasn't edited. I am going by my source unless you can come up with the panel from a different source that proves him wrong.

  3. I found the panel in question: It's from Captain America #176 (by Steve Englehart, Sal Buscema, and Vince Colletta), and it actually says "Maybe what you need is some solid advice from an Iron Man!"

  5. The Superman panel still made today's post totally worth it. :-)

  6. For what it's worth, 'dick' is a slang term for 'fine words', and comes from a shortening of 'dictionary'.

  7. Thanks, but yeah, the panel was edited. I did just read the wiki article on the slang term "dick" and found it interesting though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_(slang)

  8. So Enrich, how did you find the original unedited panel? I mean you didn't have much to go on. Is there some sort of resource that I am unaware of? Did you just type the incorrect text into Google? How did you find it mang?

  9. Yeah, I googled "Captain America Iron Man solid dick" and got a number of sites sharing this panel, with many of them followed up by a comment pointing out the unaltered scene from Captain America #176. I have that issue in my collection, so I checked my copy to make sure that it was indeed "solid advice." (Although the link I shared isn't a scan from my own copy, but one of the correction/response links from my Google search.)

  10. Well, thanks man. Normally whenever I see somethin fishy posted on Facebook or wherever I always look it up to see if it is for reals, but this time I just went with it cause it was my friend. I guess he got fooled and didn't confirm it or he just thought that it was funny regardless. I will know better next time. It bothers me abit.
