The wizard's such a genius. Normal criminals, having one of their enemies helpless, would kill the hostage once they've drawn out the reinforcements, in order to permanently better the villain's odds. But not that crafty Wizard. He knows that letting your enemy go to rejoin his team is actually the way to win. Brilliant!
Consider that the portal in the Wizard's sphere is approximately the same size as the "Pizza tin" and that the "whoosh" leading up to the destruction of the FF's rocket increases in size as it gets closer. Logically the buzzsaw-disc increases in size once it leaves the sphere. (Logically? No, it's shenanigans.)
That is what was driving me crazy. There is no way a disc big enough to slice through the plane could be launched from anything a guy could hold in his hand. I'm as willing to suspend my disbelief as anyone else, but that's just insulting.
These scenes are from FF #38, my favorite all-time FF issue, when Medusa and the Frightful Four abduct the Invisible Girl and the evil FF almost finish off the FF with a nuclear bomb!

ReplyDeleteMaybe the Wizard is using his growth ray on it. He should consider using it on himself. He's just a wee lad.
