Because Nothing Says Excitement Like Rocks Friday!

Dear Ones,

I'm afraid that I'll be tending to Beloved after surgery for some time. While I don't think this is going to cut off posts completely, there will most likely be a day or two when posting isn't as regular as it usually is. So, if there are no new posts for a day or two over the next few weeks, just check back the next day. As Celine Dion meant to sing, "My site will go on."

You know what spells excitement? Big rocks:

Yeah, that's what it came down to. I guess there was no way you could top Bloodhawk, so we're going to have the team fight a big rock. That spells "page turner!" doesn't it?

See? Hank's no fool. I'd also want to make sure that "hammer" didn't mean something else before I started "grasping" it at the long-haired guy's request.

You know how I'd love to end this week? Watching the Wasp get devoured by the Toad.

Yeah! Startin' the weekend off right! Thanks, Avengers v1 #182!

The actual surgery is Monday, so I'll probably hope to see you Tuesday! Please don't get out of the habit of coming here, or I'll just be posting things for my own amusement, and that's just sad.

Good Luck on the Surgery.

BTW, Why can't Wasp just grow to normal size & explode out of Toad?

^Jeff Loeb? Because I'm sure that would happen in the Ultimate Universe.

With a tongue like that, I'm surprised that Toad isn't more popular with the ladies!

Best wishes on the surgery and a speedy recovery for Beloved!

I didn't know the Toad had an extendable tongue at that time...I thought that only came about in that Kevin Maguire-drawn mini-series, that seemed to have been done mainly to bring the comics' depiction of the Toad in line with the movie version.

Hi. Your blog is very witty. I find it most amusing. I have been appropriating of some of your images for my blog but I always put a link back to your blog.

Keep up the great work.

Whatever you may say about contemporary comics, they at least make a lot less use of the "characterize someone as a weird crazy villain by having him refer to himself in the third person" technique.

Smek!

Beloved - So glad to hear that things went well and Adam is a good nurse! He seems like a good guy. Recover quickly!

Adam - remember how many people are on your RSS feed now? So even if you're gone for a while, unless they unsubscribe, they'll still get your updates! (Like me) Hooray!

So take good care of your beloved. We'll be here.

Hope your beloved will be back to her old self soon, Nurse A!

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the Wasp-vs.-Toad sequence was from one of the first Marvel comics I actually read. In response to Erich, unless I'm guessing my issues confused, that was an illusory Toad; not the "real" one. I think it was Wanda's stepdad casting the illusion or something like that...
