I thought the advantage to having a poodle was that they don't shed.

It's true, poodles don't shed nearly as much as other breeds.

But they do look (sort of) like the dog Superman found. They don't all have stupid haircuts!

Poodles don't shed at all actually, in fact they have hair instead of fur, as do a few other breeds (Lhasas Apsos, Malteses, Shih Tzus).

I have a Shih, and it has never shed. And you're right, it does feel like hair!

He's also a little insane, as in "one good lab accident away from running amuck on the city" insane.
